Bio
BRIAN SCHWARY
Brian Schwary works from dreams and meditation work that he records in sketchbooks/journals, which serve as blueprints for the large-scale paintings that he creates. Within his compositions, his work utilizes geometric patterns and strong colors. Focusing on the figurative elements in his paintings, he uses the fine details within a human face or an animalistic figure to shape the works’ meanings. His figurative work captures aspects of the human psyche—capturing such discomforting scenes as a clown throwing his head back in maniacal laughter or a dying man drawing his last breath. He has exhibited work in NYC and Los Angeles. Currently he lives and works out of his studio in Downtown Los Angeles.
